In India, 1.77 million people were identified as homeless, including around 938,000 in urban areas and 835,000 in rural areas. A home is more than just a roof. It is the foundation of safety, dignity, health, and hope.

As a new national census has not yet been published, many experts believe the current number may be higher due to urban migration, economic hardship, and population growth.

Every individual deserves a place to call home.

People experiencing homelessness often face extreme poverty, hunger, illness, unemployment, mental health challenges, social exclusion, and exposure to violence and harsh weather. Women, children, senior citizens, and persons with disabilities are particularly vulnerable.

Our Mission

People's Collective India is committed to helping identify, rescue, and rehabilitate homeless individuals by working in partnership with government agencies, shelters, charitable organisations, healthcare providers, and community volunteers.

Our mission is to facilitate access to safe temporary shelters, permanent housing solutions where possible, nutritious food, healthcare, counselling, legal assistance, skill development, and livelihood opportunities.
